Accessibility statement
South Cumbria Skills Exchange wants everyone to be able to use this learner portal. This statement covers cslearner.org.uk. The site is built and maintained by Technophobia Ltd.
Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That covers things like text that can be read against its background, a site that works with a keyboard alone, form fields that are labelled, and pages that still work when text is enlarged.
The law and your rights
Under the Equality Act 2010, organisations that provide services to the public in the UK must make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people are not put at a disadvantage. The European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882, in force since June 2025) sets similar expectations for services offered to people in the EU. If something on this site stops you using it, tell us and we will help another way.
Tell us about a problem or ask for another format
If you cannot use part of this site, or you would like information in another format such as large print, plain text or audio, contact the South Cumbria Skills Exchange team by phone on 01229 774591 or by post at Unit 13B, Devonshire Road Industrial Estate, Millom, LA18 4JS. Tell us the page, what went wrong and how you would like to be helped. We will reply and fix confirmed problems as quickly as we can.
How we tested
We tested the public pages of this site on 22 October 2026 with automated checks (Technophobia Site Check, which uses the axe accessibility engine, and WAVE) and checked keyboard use and colour contrast. We found no failures against WCAG 2.2 AA on those pages.
What is not yet fully tested
The signed-in areas of the portal (learner, tutor and staff screens) need an account to reach and have not yet been through the same full testing. Until they have, we cannot promise they meet WCAG 2.2 AA. If you find a problem after signing in, please tell us using the details above. Testing of the signed-in screens is planned and this statement will be updated when it is done.
Last tested and next review
This statement was prepared on 22 October 2026, when the public pages were last tested. It will be reviewed again by October 2027, or sooner if the site changes significantly.
